The United Nations will work with the African Union to ease tensions in Sudan

FIFA, April 16 (FIFA)-UN Secretary General Guterres spoke with African Union Commission Chairman Moussa Faki Mohamed on the situation in Sudan, and the two sides agreed to coordinate and cooperate to immediately ease tensions in Sudan. It is understood that Guterres will hold consultations with more leaders on the same day. Earlier in the day, UN Secretary General Guterres issued a statement through a spokesman condemning the conflict between the Sudanese Rapid support Force and the armed forces, calling on both sides to immediately cease hostilities, restore calm and resolve the current crisis through dialogue. On the same day, Faki, chairman of the African Union Commission, issued a statement urging the Sudanese parties and armed forces, especially the Rapid support Force, to immediately stop the destruction of the country and intimidation of the people. Faki called on the international community to take urgent action and demanded that all parties in Sudan immediately cease fire and negotiate.
