Analyst: Samsung Electronics is considering cutting chip production by more than 20%

[analyst: Samsung Electronics is considering cutting chip production by more than 20%]-Korea's The Korea Herald newspaper reported that South Korea's Citic Securities analyst Wi Min Bok said Sunday that Samsung's chip production may be cut by 20% to 25% in the first half of this year compared with the same period in 2022. The analysts' forecast came after Samsung signalled last week that it would start cutting production of traditional products because it already had enough inventory to meet medium-and long-term demand, but did not specify the scale of the cuts. KB Securities estimates that Samsung's NAND flash chips will fall 15 per cent year-on-year between April and June, while global DRAM chip production will decline by more than 20 per cent from the third quarter.
