On the morning of the 19th local time, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with German President Steinmeier at the presidential palace in Berlin. Li Qiang conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to Steinmeier. Li Qiang said that China attaches great importance to Sino-German relations. The purpose of my visit to Germany and to co-chair the seventh round of consultations between the Chinese and German governments with Prime Minister Schultz is to implement the consensus of the heads of state of the two countries, explore new opportunities for bilateral cooperation, and enrich the connotation of China-Germany omni-directional strategic partnership. China attaches importance to Germany's role and is willing to work with Germany to adhere to peaceful development and cooperation, play a constructive role in global stability and prosperity, and provide more certainty for a world intertwined with changes. Steinmeier asked Li Qiang to convey his sincere regards to President Xi Jinping, saying that Germany is willing to be China's trusted partner to jointly safeguard trade liberalization and deal with climate change and other challenges. Germany opposes decoupling and camp confrontation, and is willing to strengthen communication with China and make joint efforts to promote world peace and development.
