Australian iron ore giant Fortescue will build another industrial battery factory in the UK. Fortescue Future Industries, the green energy subsidiary of Australian iron ore producer Fortescue Metals Group, announced on its website that it will build a new plant in Banbury, Oxfordshire, creating more than 120 jobs, thus significantly expanding its battery and electric powertrain production business in the UK. The plant in Banbury, Oxfordshire, will open in 2024 and will provide automatic assembly of battery modules and packs, energy conversion and power system assembly, as well as truck and train production, the company said.
