34 people over 60 died in extreme heat in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Uttar Pradesh, India, June 18-Indian government officials announced on the 17th that hot weather swept across large areas of Uttar Pradesh two days ago, causing the deaths of at least 34 people over the age of 60. The Beria region is located about 300 kilometers southeast of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The highest temperature in Beria reached 42.2 degrees Celsius on the 16th, 4.7 degrees Celsius higher than the average for the same period in previous years, according to the Indian Meteorological Bureau.
