135 buildings were damaged by the 5.8 magnitude earthquake in western France

Xinhua News Agency, June 17, according to French media, the magnitude 5.8 earthquake that struck western France on the 16th caused damage to 135 buildings. The town worst affected is the town of La Laigne in coastal Charente province. Officials in the town say many local public buildings have been damaged so that 170 of the area's 500 residents will have to move out of their homes.
