Xinhua News Agency, June 17-China Huadian Laowa Hydropower Station on the upper reaches of the Jinsha River officially launched dam construction on the 16th, which is also the world's highest dam of the same type of hydropower projects currently under construction and already under construction. The Lahua Hydropower Station in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River of China Huadian is located in Batang County, Sichuan Province and Mangkang County, Tibet, with an installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts. The total filling volume of the concrete face rockfill dam is 15 million cubic meters, the elevation of the top of the dam is 2709 meters, and the highest height of the dam is 239m. It is currently the highest concrete face rockfill dam in the world. After the completion of the power station, it is estimated that the average power generation for many years will be 9.089 billion kilowatt hours, which will save 2.82 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6.85 million tons per year.
