FAP, June 16-the Baltic dry bulk Index ended its nine-day rise on Friday, affected by the decline in capesize freight rates, but recorded weekly increases for the second week in a row. The Baltic dry bulk index fell 18:00, or 1.7%, to 1076. The index climbed about 2 per cent this week. The capesize index fell 71 points, or 4.4%, to 1528. It is up 0.9% this week. Average daily profit for capesize ships fell $584 to $12674. The Panamanian freight index rose 9 points to 1193, its highest level since May 23. It's up 4.1% this week. The average daily profit of Panamanian ships increased by $80 to $10738. The index of super-handy bulk carriers rose 8 points to 748. The index of handy ships fell 7 points to 464.
