The first day of May Day holiday is expected to carry 56.99 million commercial passengers across the country.

According to the Ministry of Transport, on the first day of the May Day holiday, the number of commercial passengers nationwide is expected to be 56.99 million, an increase of 151.8 percent over the same period in 2022 (International Labour Day's first day of holiday, the same as below). Of these, railways are expected to send 19.5 million passengers, an increase of 343.6 percent over the same period last year; highways are expected to send 34.5 million passengers, an increase of 98.8 percent over the same period last year; waterways are expected to send 950000 passengers, an increase of 86.2 percent over the same period last year; and civil aviation is expected to send 2.04 million passengers, an increase of 441.8 percent. The volume of minibuses on expressways is expected to reach 56.35 million, an increase of 120.03 percent over the same period last year.
