The European Parliament passes the New Battery Act and the agreement bill comes into force with only the last hurdle left.

On June 14, local time, the European Parliament, by a vote of 587 to 9, with 20 abstentions, adopted an agreement with the Council of Europe on the New Battery Act, which aims to improve the relevant provisions of the EU battery management in the New Battery Act. The relevant agreement on the "new battery law" passed by the European Parliament still needs to be formally approved by the European Council, which will then be published in the EU official bulletin and enter into force. Once the full version of the new battery law takes effect, battery manufacturers, including Chinese battery companies, will be subject to stricter environmental and due diligence requirements if they want to sell batteries in the European market.
