[EU, Poland and other five countries reach agreement in principle on matters related to Ukrainian agricultural products] April 29, European Commission Executive Vice President Dombrovskis announced on the 28th local time that the European Commission has reached an agreement in principle with Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia on matters related to Ukrainian agricultural products. Dombrovskis said the EU had taken action to address the concerns of EU member states and Ukrainian farmers. Specific measures include promoting the withdrawal of unilateral measures against Ukrainian agricultural products by Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria and other countries. From the EU level, safeguard measures will be implemented for four kinds of agricultural products, including wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds. A 100 million euro package of support was provided to farmers in five affected member States. In addition, the EU will continue to promote dumping investigations, including sunflower oil and other products. The EU will further ensure that Ukrainian agricultural products are exported to other countries through EU channels.
