[national Bureau of Statistics: urban fixed asset investment grew 4% year-on-year from January to May] data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that from January to May, national fixed asset investment (excluding rural households) was 18.8815 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.0% over the same period last year (calculated on a comparable basis, see note 7 for details). Of this total, private investment in fixed assets totaled 10.1915 trillion yuan, down 0.1 percent from the same period last year. From a month-on-month point of view, fixed asset investment (excluding farmers) increased by 0.11% in May.
