Xinhua News Agency, April 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a presidential decree on 28 April approving amendments to relevant articles of the Russian Criminal Code. Under the new amendment, acts of treason that have a particularly serious impact on constitutional order and national security are punishable by life imprisonment.
