FIFA, 14 June-Container ship freight on routes from Shanghai to South America and the Middle East has increased by 20 to 30 percent compared with the end of March. The latest data released by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange show that the transport demand of South American routes continues to improve, and the relationship between supply and demand is good. The market freight rate (shipping and maritime surcharge) for Shanghai port exports to South American basic ports is US $2305 / TEU, up 34 per cent from the end of March. The market freight rate for exports from Shanghai Port to the basic port of the Persian Gulf is US $1280 / TEU, up 23% from the end of March.
