Gu Zhifeng said that the average daily traffic volume of highways across the country is expected to reach 53.3 million to 54.3 million vehicles during the holiday period, an increase of about 73% to 77% compared with 2022, and the traffic on the first day of the holiday is likely to break the historical peak. The average daily traffic volume of ordinary national and provincial highways will reach 9300 to 10000, an increase of about 31 to 40 per cent compared with 2022.
