Us media: Vietnam heatwave and power shortage continue to hit Samsung, Hon Hai and Lixun precision factories

Xinhua News Agency, June 10, the Wall Street Journal reported that in the heat wave in early summer, Vietnam is trying to deal with a serious power shortage, which has dealt a blow to manufacturers flocking to Vietnam. Some of the production plants of Apple suppliers such as Hon Hai and Lixun Precision, as well as Samsung Electronics's plants in northern Vietnam, have received requests from local power companies to consider rotating power outages, or at least reduce power consumption during peak periods, according to people related to Vietnam's manufacturing operations. The power supply was tight in mid-May, these people said, and local government officials told them to prepare for a power shortage that would last at least until the end of June.
