The Baltic dry bulk index rose 15:00, or 1.4 per cent, to 1055, the highest level since May 30, and recorded a weekly increase of 14.8 per cent, the biggest weekly increase since March 10. The capesize index rose 54 points, or 3.7%, to 1514, while the weekly line rose 35.7%, ending a four-week decline. Average daily profit for capesize ships rose $448 to $12560. The Panamanian freight index remained unchanged at 1146 points; the weekly line rose 11.3%, ending an eight-week decline. Average daily profit for Panamanian ships rose $4 to $10316. The index of super-handy bulk carriers fell 11:00 to 736, with a 10.5 per cent drop on the weekly line.
