[Essity is understood to be discussing the possibility of selling its stake in Vinda] according to people familiar with the matter, tissue maker Essity AB is considering several options for its majority stake in Hong Kong-listed Vinda International. The Swedish maker of personal care products is discussing plans to sell some or all of its 52% stake in Vader, according to sources. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because the information was confidential. Vader shares rose 1.2 per cent to HK $21.80 on Wednesday, with a market capitalization of about US $3.3 billion. At that price, Essity's stake is worth about $1.7 billion. It is not clear whether Essity will eventually conclude a stock deal, or the company may choose to retain its shares. (Bloomberg)
