[China's May CPI rose 0.2 percent year on year] data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in May 2023, consumer prices across the country rose 0.2 percent year on year. Of this total, urban prices rose 0.2%, rural areas rose 0.1%, food prices rose 1.0%, non-food prices remained unchanged, consumer goods prices fell 0.3%, and service prices rose 0.9%.
