According to data released by National Healthcare Security Administration on the 7th, the total income of the basic medical insurance fund (including maternity insurance) from January to April 2023 was 1.140313 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.1% over the same period last year. Of this total, the income of the basic medical insurance fund for workers (including maternity insurance) was 743.519 billion yuan, an increase of 13.6% over the same period last year. The income of the basic medical insurance fund for urban and rural residents was 396.794 billion yuan, down 0.9 percent from the same period last year. According to data released on National Healthcare Security Administration's official website, from January to April 2023, the total expenditure of the basic medical insurance fund (including maternity insurance) was 795.301 billion yuan, an increase of 23.1 percent over the same period last year, while the expenditure of the basic medical insurance fund for employees (including maternity insurance) was 503.227 billion yuan, an increase of 22.4 percent over the same period last year. The treatment expenditure of maternity insurance fund is 34.502 billion yuan. The expenditure of the basic medical insurance fund for urban and rural residents was 292.074 billion yuan, an increase of 24.2% over the same period last year.
