Thailand's rice production this year may be 6 percent lower than that of last year, according to the Thai Kasikorn Research Center-KRC Research Center (Kaitai-Thailand). Thailand's Kaitai Research Center predicts that the country's total rice production this year will be about 32.7 million to 33.2 million tons, plus about 7.6 million tons of rice from the second season, to meet domestic and export demand. However, a number of droughts have prolonged and affected rice production, which is expected to be well below these levels.
