Xinhua News Agency, June 7, the dam of the Cahovka Hydropower Station, which is currently controlled by Russia, was attacked and exploded on the 6th, causing the river to pour out. Both Russia and Ukraine evacuated residents from the affected areas. The water level in the Russian-controlled city of New Kahovka, located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, has been declared a state of emergency after the attack on the dam. Three densely populated residential areas in the city have been completely submerged and about 900 residents have been evacuated, the TASS reported on the 6th. Ukraine's State Emergency Management Agency said that according to preliminary statistics, 13 settlements and more than 260 houses on the right bank of the Dnieper River have been affected by rising water levels, and 1300 people have been evacuated from the affected areas.
