Xinhua News Agency, June 7, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu held China-New Zealand foreign policy consultations with Sid, secretary general of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Beijing on 6 June. Ma Zhaoxu said: China regards New Zealand as an important cooperative partner on the road of Chinese-style modernization, and is willing to work with New Zealand to enhance mutual trust, strengthen cooperation, properly handle differences, and push the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level. Sid said that New Zealand regards relations with China as one of its diplomatic priorities and is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges and dialogue and exchanges with China in various fields, expand cooperation in economy and trade, education, tourism, climate change and other fields, and constantly enrich the connotation of bilateral relations. The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on their respective domestic situation and foreign policies as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
