FAP, June 6 (Xinhua)-- the Baltic dry bulk Freight Index recorded its biggest one-day increase since mid-March on Tuesday, supported by higher rates for capesize and Panamanian ships. The Baltic dry bulk index rose 77 points, or 8.2%, to 1016, the biggest one-day gain since March 14. The capesize index rose 205 points, or 17.4%, to 1383, the biggest one-day increase in more than three months. Average daily profit for capesize ships rose $1704 to $11470. The Panamanian freight index rose 60 points, or 5.7%, to 1108. Average daily profit for Panamanian ships rose $539 to $9973. The index of super-handy bulk carriers fell 22:00 or 2.7 per cent to 781, the lowest level since late February.
