[India imports more crude oil from Russia in May than from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and the United States combined] the Economic Times of India reported on June 5 that India imported more crude oil from Russia in May than from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and the United States, according to data from Vortexa, an energy goods tracking agency. India bought an average of 1.96 million barrels of crude oil a day from Russia in May, up 15 per cent from April. Russian crude oil accounted for nearly 42 per cent of India's total crude oil imports in May-the highest proportion of crude oil supplied by a single country to India in recent years, while OPEC crude oil supply to India fell to an all-time low of 39 per cent in May.
