The Yokosuka Municipal Government of Japan has announced that it will formally use ChatGPT to improve work efficiency.

Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, which is the first local government in Japan to try to use artificial intelligence (AI) chat software "ChatGPT" at work, announced the verification results, saying that work efficiency such as copywriting has improved since April when it began to be used. Mayor Shangdi Keming affirmed at a press conference: "got a very good tool." From that day on, it will be officially used. According to Yokosuka City, about half of the staff use it for article summary, advice, search and so on. The city estimates that if employees continue to use ChatGPT, their daily working hours can be reduced by at least about 10 minutes. On the other hand, about half of the employees who responded to the Yokosuka questionnaire expressed dissatisfaction with the accuracy of the answer given by ChatGPT. The city says it needs to have the "ability to ask questions" to elicit the right answers, and tries to improve staff skills through expert advice and case competitions. (Kyodo News Agency)
