[source: the European Commission has extended the ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine until mid-September] according to an EU source, the European Commission has extended the ban on the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine until mid-September. The ban, which came into effect on May 2, replaces unilateral restrictions imposed by Ukraine's neighboring countries, including Poland. On April 28, the European Commission reached an agreement with Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products and announced on May 2 temporary precautionary measures against imports of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine. These grains can still be transported in transit through the territories of the five countries.
