The chief marketing officer of Wal-Mart will leave the retailer in a difficult environment.

FAP, April 15 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- John Furner, CEO of Wal-Mart USA, said in an employee memo on Friday that Charles Redfield, the chief marketing officer, will leave on May 1 and will spend more time with his family. Redfield will continue to act as an advisor to the company. Redfield, who has worked at Wal-Mart for 32 years, will leave as retailers face a tougher sales environment. In February, Wal-Mart's outlook for the coming fiscal year was weaker than expected. The company said it expected Wal-Mart's US same-store sales to grow by 2 per cent to 2.5 per cent, excluding fuel.
