Through a resolution, the General Assembly formally recognized that the primary task of the World Meteorological Organization is to promote the implementation of the United Nations National early warning Initiative, that is, to ensure access to meteorological early warning services for all the world by the end of 2027. In its resolution, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said that the United Nations National early warning Initiative will play a leading role in the era of "rapid climate, social and technological change" as the WMO's top priority strategy for the next four years.
