According to Hong Kong's Sing Tao Daily, citing unnamed sources, the cash rebate for HSBC's "overweight" mortgage loans has been shown in some cases. 90% of mortgage loans with a threshold of HK $5 million offer cash rebates of up to 3%, the highest in Hong Kong and once again breaking the record high since 2007. The source pointed out that the higher the loan-to-value ratio, the higher the bargaining power to strive for a higher rebate. However, it should be noted that banks' cash rebates for high-percentage mortgages are generally capped at 60% rather than 90%.
