[Qatar and Bangladesh sign 15-year liquefied natural gas supply agreement] Qatar Energy Company and Bangladesh National Oil Company signed an agreement from the beginning of 2026. Qatar will supply 1.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas to Bangladesh for a period of 15 years. Saade Kabi, Minister of State for Energy of Qatar and President and CEO of Qatar Energy Company, who attended the signing ceremony, said that under the agreement, Qatar can supply up to 1.8 million tons of liquefied natural gas to Bangladesh each year. Qatar is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of liquefied natural gas. Qatar is currently implementing the northern gas field expansion project and plans to increase Qatar's LNG production capacity by 60% by 2027, from the current 77 million tons per year to 126 million tons per year.
