China and India held the 27th meeting of the working mechanism for consultation and coordination on border affairs

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hong Liang, director of the Department of Border and Ocean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Amberle, joint secretary of the East Asia Department and Foreign Minister's Office of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 27th meeting of the China-India Border Affairs consultation and Coordination working Mechanism (WMCC) in New Delhi. Representatives of the foreign affairs, defense, immigration and other departments of the two countries attended. The two sides fully affirmed the achievements of previous diplomatic and military communications, had an in-depth exchange of views on current issues of common concern and ideas for the next stage of work, and reached the following consensus: first, the two sides fully exchanged views on the implementation of the consensus recently reached by the foreign ministers of the two countries. agreed to speed up the settlement of the western section of the border and other related issues. Second, the two sides agreed to continue to maintain communication through diplomatic and military channels, continue to promote the cooling of the border situation, and further maintain peace and tranquillity in the border areas. Third, the two sides agreed to hold the 19th round of directorate talks and the 28th WMCC meeting as soon as possible. During the meeting, Hong Liang and his entourage also called on Indian Foreign Secretary Kweitzer.
