Energy efficiency conversion rate doubled when the world's first megawatt high temperature superconducting induction heating device is put into operation

Faifei News Agency, April 23, the world's first megawatt high temperature superconducting induction heating device, developed by China, was officially put into operation in Heilongjiang a few days ago. The device can make use of the new heating technology to heat large-size metal workpieces quickly and efficiently, save energy and reduce emissions, and promote the high-quality development of enterprises. It is understood that the high temperature superconducting induction heating device makes use of the characteristics that the superconductor can achieve a stable zero resistance superconducting state at low temperature, and can be used not only for extrusion and forging of non-ferrous metal profiles such as aluminum and copper, but also for melting and heat treatment of high-end alloys. Compared with the commonly used resistance furnace, this device can double the energy efficiency conversion rate of the traditional power frequency induction furnace, save energy by 50%, and reduce carbon emissions by more than half.
