European natural gas traders: natural gas futures prices may fall to negative in some areas this summer

[European natural gas trader: natural gas futures may fall to negative in some areas this summer] according to a report in Russia Today on May 30, a number of European natural gas traders recently said that as Europe is entering the hottest months of the year and natural gas demand remains depressed, short-term contract prices for natural gas in some parts of Europe may fall to negative this summer. Europe's current natural gas inventory is about 66 per cent, much higher than the historical average for the same period. Some traders predict that gas short-term contract prices may even show negative growth in some areas this summer, a far cry from what happened in May last year. In August last year, EU natural gas futures prices hit an all-time high of 345 euros per megawatt hour.
