There is no need to recall US regulators to end the investigation of Tesla's "passenger game" function

FYN, May 30 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday that it would end its investigation of 580000 Tesla cars because the carmaker initially decided to allow games to be played on the front center console. NHTSA launched a survey of the passenger Game (Passenger Play) feature in December 2021 to assess whether it distracts drivers. Shortly after that, Tesla agreed that passengers would no longer be allowed to play games through the on-board screen while the vehicle was moving. NHTSA said that closing the investigation without seeking a recall did not indicate that there were no safety-related defects. In addition this does not preclude the agency from taking further action if necessary.
