Xinhua News Agency, May 30-PetroChina announced today that China's first 10,000-meter scientific exploration well, the Deep Take-1 well, has been drilled in the Tarim Oilfield in Xinjiang. Deep Take 1 well is located in the hinterland of Taklimakan Desert, Shaya County, with a design depth of more than 10000 meters. Most of the oil and gas in the Tarim basin where the Take-1 well is located are less than 6000 meters, and the total oil and gas geological resources below 8000 meters are more than 9 billion tons of oil equivalent, accounting for more than half of the ultra-deep resources in the country.
