On May 29, Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng met with Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Wesic in Beijing via video. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the field of transportation between China and Serbia. Li Xiaopeng pointed out that China and Cyprus have always maintained close and friendly cooperative relations in the field of transportation. The Ministry of Transport of China attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Cypriot transport departments, implementing the consensus and results of the China-CEE leaders' summit under the framework of jointly building "Belt and Road Initiative", deepening and expanding bilateral practical cooperation in the field of transportation, actively promoting projects such as the Hungary-Cyprus railway, and making due contributions to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Cyprus. Goran Vesic said that the Ministry of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure of Cyprus attaches great importance to developing pragmatic, friendly and cooperative relations with the Ministry of Transport of China. He is willing to further strengthen communication and exchanges with the Ministry of Transport of China, deepen and expand cooperation in transportation infrastructure, railways and other fields, jointly support Chinese transportation infrastructure enterprises in their investment and development in Serbia, and promote more practical achievements in the development of bilateral relations. Li Xiaopeng introduced the Global Sustainable Transport Summit Forum (2023) to be held in Beijing from September 25 to 26 this year and invited Goran Wesic to attend at that time.
