The Japanese warship sailed into the port of Busan, South Korea, under the flag of the self-defense team.

Xinhua News Agency, May 29, Japan's Maritime self-Defense Force frigate sailed into Busan Port on the morning of 29 May and will participate in the multinational maritime interception exercise "Oriental effort 23" led by the South Korean government. The Japanese self-Defense Force flag is a kind of rising sun flag, which is regarded as a symbol of Japanese militarism. However, the South Korean Defense Ministry said earlier that the self-defense ships flying the team flag into the port is a routine measure in accordance with international rules. The previous South Korean government regarded it as a very serious matter for Japanese ships to fly the flag of the self-Defense Forces into South Korea. It asked Japan to refrain from flying the rising sun flag when it hosted the ship parade in November 2018, but it refused and withdrew. (Yonhap news agency)
