[30th United Nations Climate change Conference to be held in Brazil] May 27th, the Brazilian federal government announced on May 26th local time that the 30th Conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate change (COP30) will be held in 2025 in Belem, capital of the state of Para in the north of the country. Helder Barbalho, governor of the state of Para, said hosting the event "increases our responsibility and shows that Brazil is ready to discuss the environmental agenda and show respect for the environment of the Amazon region".
