Qin Gang: a modernization with a huge population is bound to inject stronger momentum into the global economic recovery.

Xinhua News Agency, April 21, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang attended the opening ceremony of the Blue Hall Forum on "Modernization of Chinese style and the World" on April 21 and delivered a keynote speech. Qin Gang said that a modernization with a large population is bound to inject stronger momentum into the global economic recovery. Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, the Chinese government has lifted more than 800 million people out of poverty and brought more than 400 million people into middle-income groups. Today, China has become a major trading partner of more than 140 countries and regions. 320 million US dollars of Chinese direct investment goes to the world every day, and more than 3000 foreign-funded enterprises settle in China every month. Over the past decade, China has contributed more to global growth than the Group of Seven combined. With China's overall population of more than 1.4 billion stepping into modernization, this scale will exceed the population of the existing developed countries combined, and China will certainly provide more powerful impetus to the world economy. Last month, the China Development Forum and the Boao Forum for Asia were successfully held one after another, attracting politicians and businessmen from all over the world. During this period, the voice we have heard most is to seize the new opportunities brought about by China's high-quality development and high-level opening up to the outside world. The most consistent point of view is to oppose decoupling with China and look forward to working with China.
