Xinhua News Agency, May 25, April 2023 (00: 00 on April 1 to 24:00 on April 30, 2023), a total of 2101158 cases of legal infectious diseases and 2217 deaths were reported throughout the country (excluding the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative regions and Taiwan). No morbidity and death of class An infectious diseases were reported. Among category B infectious diseases, atypical pneumonia, poliomyelitis, diphtheria, human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza and human infection with H7N9 avian influenza had no morbidity or death. Except for novel coronavirus infection, a total of 291128 cases and 2185 deaths were reported in the other 21 category B infectious diseases. The top five diseases reported were viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea and brucellosis, accounting for 96% of the total number of reported cases of class B infectious diseases. In the same period, a total of 1810030 cases of class C infectious diseases and 32 deaths were reported. The top three diseases reported were influenza, other infectious diarrhoeal diseases and hand-foot-mouth disease, accounting for 99.5% of the total number of reported cases of category C infectious diseases.
