Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission (SFC) Leung Fung-Yee: discussing with the mainland the feasibility of including REITs into the interconnection mechanism)-- Leung Fung-Yee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission, said at an event of the Hong Kong Housing Trust Fund Association that the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission and mainland regulators continue to explore the feasibility of including home trust funds (REITs) and infrastructure REITs into the interconnection mechanism. Leung Fung-Yee pointed out that the Hong Kong housing industry has been looking forward to the inclusion of the housing trust fund in the Shanghai-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect. With the introduction of infrastructure REITs in the mainland in 2021, the mainland infrastructure REITs market continues to improve. In the long run, the level of market connectivity between the two places can be improved in the future.
