The operating profit of Samsung Electronics fell 95.5% as expected in the first quarter. South Korean enterprise data research institute CEO SCORE conducted a survey of 309 South Korean enterprises with top 500 sales last year that released their results in the first quarter of this year. The results show that with Korean exports of main chips not as expected, South Korean enterprises' operating profits fell 48.8% year-on-year to 25.8985 trillion won, falling for three consecutive quarters since the third quarter of last year. According to enterprises, Samsung Electronics' operating profit fell the most among South Korean enterprises, plunging 95.5% from a year earlier to 640.2 billion won, the lowest since 2009. SK Hynix came in second with a loss of 3.4023 trillion won.
