Rare! The emergence of a "second person" against Alzheimer's disease

Rare! FAP, May 16-an extremely rare gene that can fight Alzheimer's disease has finally been found in a second patient. A rare genetic variation in a newly identified RELN gene (encoding the signal protein reelin) in a man is associated with more than 20 years of resilience in autosomal dominant Alzheimer's disease (ADAD), according to a study published on the 15th in the journal Nature Medicine. This is the second report of such resilience and highlights a previously unknown molecular pathway that may increase resilience in all forms of Alzheimer's disease.
