FAP, May 15 (Xinhua)-- the Baltic dry bulk freight index fell to its lowest level in nearly three weeks on Monday due to reduced demand for all types of ships. The Baltic dry bulk index fell 36 points, or 2.3%, to 1522, the third consecutive week of decline. The capesize index fell 71 points, or 2.9%, to a 10-day low of 2385. Average daily earnings for capesize ships fell $590 to $19777. The Panamanian shipping index fell for the 14th day in a row, falling 36 points, or 2.6%, to an 11-week low of 1366. Average daily profit for Panamanian ships fell $328 to $12291. The convenient ship freight index fell 4 points to 628. The index of super-handy bulk carriers fell 7 points to 1098.
