In terms of industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 8.8 billion kilowatt hours, up 12.3 percent over the same period last year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 481.4 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 7.6 percent over the same period last year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 115.5 billion kilowatt hours, up 17.9 percent over the same period last year; and the domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 84.4 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 0.9 percent over the same period last year. From January to April, the electricity consumption of the whole society totaled 2.8103 trillion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 4.7 percent over the same period last year. In terms of industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 35.1 billion kilowatt hours, up 10.3 percent over the same period last year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 1.8632 trillion kilowatt hours, an increase of 5.0 percent over the same period last year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 485.2 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 7.0 percent over the same period last year; and the domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 426.8 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 0.3 percent over the same period last year.
