FAP, May 14-when talking about the US banking crisis, Randall Quarles, former vice chairman of the Federal Reserve, said that policy makers and investors should prepare for long-term pressure on regional banks. Quarles believes that the U. S. regional banking crisis is not over. He said interest rates would remain higher and last longer than many expected, with the consequence that US regional banks would be under pressure for longer than currently expected.
