Han Zheng visits the Netherlands

At the invitation of the Dutch government, Vice President Han Zheng visited the Netherlands from May 10 to 12 local time to meet with King William Alexander in the Hague and hold talks with Prime Minister Rutte. When meeting with William Alexander, Han Zheng first conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes of professors President Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan to the king and queen, saying that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and King William-Alexander, Sino-Dutch relations have always maintained healthy and stable development. Bilateral trade volume is growing against the trend, and cooperation in agriculture, water conservancy, transportation and logistics, sustainable development and other fields is advancing steadily. It is hoped that through this visit, we will further implement the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and the King and promote greater development of the open and pragmatic all-round cooperative partnership between China and the Netherlands. Han Zheng pointed out that the current economic globalization has encountered some difficulties, but the general trend is irreversible. China and the Netherlands have a lot of room for cooperation in green, low-carbon, climate change and other areas, and we should work together to meet the challenges. Different civilized countries should respect, understand and support each other, seek consensus in exchanges and promote win-win cooperation. William Alexander asked Han Zheng to convey his and the queen's cordial greetings and best wishes to professors President Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan, saying that the most important issue facing mankind in the 21st century is the environment. China's achievements in solving the water resources and sanitation problems faced by a large population are obvious to all. The Netherlands and China have played an important role in sustainable development and environmental protection, and cooperation should be further strengthened to promote global carbon neutralization and emission reduction. The international community should pay more attention to consensus, respect each other's civilizations and identify with each other's identities. It is precisely because of the diversity of these civilizations and identities that each nation and country becomes unique. During his talks with Rutte, Han Zheng said that in recent years, China and the Netherlands have joined hands to meet challenges in the spirit of mutual respect and mutual trust, jointly ensure the stability of the global production and supply chain, and have made contributions to the two countries and the world economy. At present, China's economy has stabilized and rebounded better than expected, which will certainly contribute to the global economic recovery and provide a broader space for practical cooperation between China and the Netherlands. China is willing to communicate extensively with the Netherlands, consolidate mutual trust, jointly explore the direction of cooperation under the new situation, promote the healthy development of Sino-Dutch relations, and jointly promote world peace, security and prosperity. Han Zheng pointed out that the key to tackling climate change lies in action, which requires the common attention and efforts of the international community. There is no fundamental conflict of interests between China and the EU, but more complementary advantages. China is willing to promote the better development of China-EU relations through practical cooperation. Rutte welcomed Han Zheng's visit, saying that China is an important trading partner of the Netherlands. The relationship between the two sides is strong and strong, and there is a lot of room for practical cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, green and low carbon, climate change and so on. There are many problems in the world today, and China's role is indispensable. We look forward to the rapid resumption of exchanges between the Netherlands and China, and are willing to deepen bilateral practical cooperation and strengthen scientific and technological cooperation in the field of climate change so as to help achieve the global goal of tackling climate change. After the talks, Han Zheng and Rutte jointly visited the Royal gallery of Moritz. During his visit to the Netherlands, Han Zheng also met with the heads of Asma and Akzo Nobel respectively, and inspected the headquarters of Philips in Amsterdam.
