Russian Deputy Foreign Minister says the Black Sea grain transport agreement may cease to exist after 18 May. On 11 May, the Turkish Defense Ministry issued a statement on the quadripartite talks on the agreement on the outward transportation of agricultural products from the Black Sea port. The statement said that the parties held talks in a constructive manner on the 10th and 11th, but the statement did not mention the extension of the agreement, which is of great concern to the outside world. The parties agree to continue the Quartet cooperation model at the technical level, and Turkey will host the relevant work, so that the agreement on the outward shipment of agricultural products from the Black Sea port will continue to operate effectively for some time to come. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vilchinin said in Istanbul on the 11th that Russia opposes the idea of expanding or indefinitely extending the agreement on the outward transportation of agricultural products from the ports of the Black Sea advocated by some Western countries. If no consensus is reached by 18 May, this initiative will cease to exist.
