An Intel spokesman said: "as a result of giving priority to investment in the IDM 2.0 strategy, we have closed production of the Blockscale 1000 series ASIC (application-specific integrated circuits), while we will continue to support Blockscale customers." According to a document on Intel's website, orders will no longer be accepted after October 20, and the last products will be shipped no later than April 20, 2024. The company announced its foray into bitcoin mining about a year ago, and the first customers of Blocksale chips included blockchain technology companies such as Argo Blockchain, Block, Griid Infrastructure and Hive Blockchain.
